Artificial intelligence can influence the choices people make and the opportunities they receive. Liberty asks how governance can protect human dignity, individual agency, fundamental freedoms and democratic participation. At AI Policy LUB, we approach these questions through law, evidence and institutional accountability. We ask who can challenge a decision, who must explain it, and what remedies should be available when harm occurs. Liberty is a guiding principle for our research agenda, rather than a claim that these problems have already been solved.
